Book Editing and Proofreading

Having your manuscript edited before publication can have a tremendous influence on the long-term success of your book. To help make your manuscript as good as it can be, we offer two levels of editing:

1. Basic Proofreading/Copyediting emphasizes correcting the minor details that detract from the content and answers the question, “Are there mistakes?” We will correct errors in spelling, punctuation, minor typographical errors, formatting errors (margins, spacing, etc.). We can also match the Table of Contents with the book pages. Cost is $45 for the first 5,000 words and then $.005 to $.009 per word after that.

2. Line Editing is more comprehensive than basic proofreading. It enhances the accuracy, the impact, and the style of your content and answers the question, “Does this read well?” It would include basic proofreading & copyediting as described above as well as correcting grammar, ensuring consistency in word usage, rewording or rearranging for clarity, reducing redundancies and wordiness, and checking quotes and references for accuracy. Cost is $80 for the first 5,000 words and then $.010 to $.016 per word after that.
